BMI Worksheets

Make a free, printable BMI worksheet in seconds: choose metric, imperial or mixed units and 5 to 20 problems, then print. Each worksheet comes with an answer key showing every step: height conversion, squaring, the 703 factor and the final BMI and category. Every sheet has a number, so you can recreate the same worksheet later.

The same sheet number always makes the same worksheet, so you can recreate one later.

How to use the worksheets

  • Print prints the problems and the answer key on separate pages. Keep the answer key back, or hand it out for self-checking.
  • New worksheet makes a fresh set of problems. Write down the sheet number if you want to reuse it.
  • Mixed units practises both formulas. Start with one unit type if students are new to BMI.

The problems use made-up people with realistic heights and weights. We recommend not asking students to use their own measurements in class.

Frequently asked questions

What grade are these worksheets for?

They suit middle and high school math or health classes. Mixed units with long division is more challenging.

Can students use a calculator?

Yes, or no. The answer key shows each step, so both work.
