Batch BMI Calculator

Calculate BMI for a whole list of people at once: paste rows or upload a CSV file with a header line containing height and weight (and optionally name), and get the BMI and category for every row. Download the results as a new CSV. The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded, which matters for health data.

Calculate a list

The file is read by your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Preparing your file

  • A header row is required. Name the columns "height" and "weight". A column with "name" or "id" in its header is copied to the results.
  • Choose the units your file uses: centimeters and kilograms, or inches and pounds. Convert feet and inches to total inches first (feet × 12 + inches).
  • Commas, tabs or semicolons all work as separators, so you can paste straight from a spreadsheet.
  • Rows that look wrong (missing values, impossible heights) are flagged so you can check them.

Example:

name,height,weight
Alex,170,65
Sam,182,88

Who it's for

School nurses, coaches, clinic staff, researchers and workplace wellness teams who need BMI for a group. Results use adult categories, which apply from age 20.1 For anyone under 20, use BMI-for-age percentiles instead.
